Nice replacement part but... August 18, 2010

I had the older one-piece carseat harness where one strap was fed through two slots and the other strap slid on and off an arm. To get the harness undone you simply slid the strap to the side and off the arm. Well, my little stink-bug figured that out quickly so I needed an updated replacement. I bought the sunshine clip because it was marketed as being universal and it was an actual clip that she wouldn't have the hand strength to unbuckle. It fit but my little stink-bug figured out that she could slide it down in order to put the straps under her arms. I did some online research on some mom-boards and found some helpful advice. I bought some buttons about 1.5 inches across and hand sewed them onto the straps right under the harness. They prevent her from sliding the harness down and can easily be removed and placed in a different position as she grows. That is why I gave only four stars. The harness IS universal and DOES clip tightly but could be improved by making the strap slots more snug. However, since the mom-inspired improvement was cheap and simple I don't feel like I need to give the product less than four stars.

purchased the sunshine kids lock universal harness clip for my 2yr old nephew ..... Troy little escape artist.....could never keep him in car seat....this device has him anchored in safe and sound! He is unable to remove the clip, which in turns keeps Troy safe and sound when traveling,

I ordered this to replace my difficult to open Graco Chest Clip also sold by Amazon.
The Graco one (as I say in my review there) was very difficult to open to the point where I was worried I wouldn't be able to get my child out of her booster seat in an emergency.
This clip is straightforward to open and my one and a half year old daughter doesn't have the hand strength to open this style clip yet.
Great clip - easy operation. It's what I needed to get my child in and out of the car as many times as I do during the day.

I was expecting a tighter clip than normal, one that would help keep my autistic son in his car seat, but despite the name (Lock Tite) this clip is actually easier to open than the one that came with my Brittax car seat. It is what it says it is: a "universal harness clip," no different from any other.
